A Sydney convertible driver has lost his cool – and his shirt – in a bizarre display of road rage.
The video uploaded on Wednesday, which is going viral on social media, shows a driver of a red convertible attempting to enter Elizabeth Street from King Street in Newtown.
The driver is attempting to travel the correct way down the tight one-way lane, but blocking his path is a dlivery van parked with its hazard lights on facing the wrong direction.
Newtown in Sydney’s Inner West is notorious for its tight lanes and lack of street parking, and it appeared the van was making a delivery to a nearby business.
But the convertible driver in shorts and a black and white singlet wasn’t having it.
“Move!” he screamed.
Several people step in to try and reason with the man.
One even appears to size up his small Mazda convertible to see whether it will fit through the small gap left by the van.
Wanting to drive his point home, the man exits his vehicle.
He gestures enormously at the one-way sign with two open hands raised.
“One way! One way!” he roars.
And finally, off comes the singlet in a fit of rage.
The man continued screaming and gesturing before getting back in his car before the video cut off.
Plenty saw humour in the incident, which appeared to come to a nonviolent resolution.
“Wouldn’t knock a pea off a chop,” one commented.
“The shirt-off move is a good point,” joked another.
One even suggested the man have a “drink and a smoke”, fearing he was “risking a heart attack” with his outburst.
