A heated road rage incident unfolded on a bustling Perth road, where a hammer was wielded and a wheelie bin was hurled, leaving witnesses stunned.
A motorcyclist and two tradies were filmed in a violent altercation mere minutes after narrowly avoiding a collision on a busy road in the city this week.
The clip shows two men exiting a Toyota sedan to confront the motorbike rider in Welshpool, a suburb in the southeast of the city.
The incident, which unfolded at approximately 4pm on Tuesday, brought traffic to a grinding halt on Orrong Road.
The footage aired by 7NEWS shows one of the tradies, donned in a yellow high-visibility vest, retrieving a hammer from the sedan’s trunk and confronting the motorcyclist, who was still wearing protective gloves and a helmet.
The same tradie swiftly ran to the roadside, grabbing a large wheelie bin and hurling it towards the motorcyclist.
Responding to the provocation, the motorcyclist unleashed a flurry of punches, sending one of the tradies tumbling to the ground.
He then redirected his fury toward the Toyota sedan, repeatedly striking the driver’s window.
The chaotic scene attracted the attention of several onlookers, prompting some to intervene and attempt to diffuse the escalating brawl.
Western Australian Police have confirmed that they are actively investigating the incident.
A police spokesperson told media, “About 4pm, a motorcyclist and driver of a vehicle became involved in a physical altercation after an earlier near-collision.
“The physical altercation continued between the two before a male passenger from the vehicle armed himself with a hammer and threatened the motorcyclist.
“The male driver and passenger then left the scene in the vehicle.”
Police say the motorcyclist sustained only minor injuries during the altercation, and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
