There are some amazing deals on new cars this month as dealers try to shift last year’s stock. The price of some popular utes have been slashed by more than $10,000.

After a torrid 2019, car dealerships are still trying to move last year’s stock, which means there are some sharp deals around. Here are some of the best.

Small cars

Kia’s Cerato hatch and sedan kicked sales goals last year and the brand aims to extend the winning streak with some attractive drive-away deals. The base Cerato S manual is just $20,290, down from $24,567, a saving of more than $4000. An auto transmission adds $2000 but is still more than $5000 cheaper than the usual $27,451.

Among other budget options, Kia’s sister brand Hyundai has the base manual i30 Go hatch for $20,990 drive-away, a saving of nearly $2500. Take a 2019-plated version and you’ll get an additional $500 off. The auto is $22,990, a saving of nearly $3000.

Honda Civic hatch and sedan buyers get additional peace of mind with a seven-year/ unlimited kilometre warranty — up from five years — and seven years of roadside assistance.

Volkswagen has a new Golf coming later in the year and is clearing the current version. Take several thousand dollars off a 2020 base 110TSI Trendline, now $26,990 drive-away.

SUVs

Holden has changed its focus to SUVs and has the range-topping 2019 Trax LTZ for $28,990 drive-away, a saving of $5000. The brand is also sweetening the deal with seven years’ free scheduled servicing, worth more than $2000.

You can also save thousands on the 2019 Acadia large SUV, which also comes with seven years of free servicing.

Renault has sharp drive-away deals on the 2019 Captur small SUV, in advance of a new model due this year. The base petrol Zen is $24,990, more than $4000 cheaper than the usual price. The mid-tier Intens is about $4000 cheaper at $29,490.

Nissan has pumped up the value on the Pathfinder large SUV, upgrading the warranty to seven years and including seven years of roadside assistance.

Mitsubishi is boosting the warranty to seven-years/150,000km, plus two years free servicing, for its range of 2019 and 2020 SUVs, covering the ASX, Outlander, Eclipse Cross, Pajero and Pajero Sport.

Utes

Ford is doing sharp deals on 2019 Rangers. The four-wheel drive XLS dual-cab auto is priced at $45,490 drive-away, a discount of about $11,000.

Toyota is slashing about $8000 from 2019 versions of the 4WD HiLux SR dual-cab auto, now $46,990.

Holden is following suit with the Colorado ute. A 2019 4WD Colorado LS dual-cab is now $40,990 drive-away, which is nearly $11,000 off the regular price. The Colorado also gets seven years’ free scheduled servicing.
