It's official - social media trends have gone too far. 

A new mum has taken to TikTok to reveal her baby girl's name, and if you consume the internet like water, you'll know exactly where she got her inspo from immediately.

The 'trendy' baby name

In the video, mum @shatwanesha shared footage just moments after her daughter, DeMure Reign, was born. 

"Meet DeMure," the caption reads.

"See how she not crying ! Very sweet, very cutesy, very demure."

The caption clearly refers to TikTok Jools LeBron's 'demure' trend, which has been going viral in the last couple of weeks. 

Since LeBron posted his original video on August 2nd, millions of creators, brands, celebrities, and even political figures have embraced it. And it seems that now the trend will be immortalised in the names of some children lucky enough to be born around the same time.

"Lord have mercy"

Commenters couldn't hold back their initial reactions, with one person begging, "Please say sike."

"I would genuinely cry every day if my name was demure," a different user admitted.

"Oh, y'all are INFLUENCED," a third wrote. 

"I knew it was coming," someone else claimed. "That was fast, though."

"Lord have mercy," another viewer snarked.

Others joked that she might be a "demure" newborn but "wait until the toddler stage hits."

"No toddler is demure," a mum joked. "Very undemure."

"So pretty"

However, not everyone was opposed to the name. "I was tired of hearing the word demure, but you have made it worth hearing again! Demure Reign is a beautiful name and you have a beautiful baby!" said one fan.

"At least you were the first one to do it," another woman pointed out.

"The name itself is cute, it's just the timing that's funny," decided one follower.

"I love this, it's so pretty," said someone else.

"We made a last-minute switch"

Then someone else asked the mum what her daughter's name was going to be, and she replied, "Rhaenyra", a nod to the Game of Thrones spin-off show, House of Dragons.

"We made a last-minute switch," the mum revealed. 

Meanwhile, others said that people will end up nicknaming her daughter anyway.

"Welcome to the world DEMI!" one person declared.

"People will just call her Reign," theorised another TikTok user.

"We're just going to call her DeDe," concluded someone else.
