Viral TikTok of baby escaping locked car

The clip was shared by American mum Aprianna Lukie, and now has nearly half a million views and 2000 comments on TikTok.

It's captioned: 'My grandma accidentally locked my baby in the car 😂🤦🏾‍♀️'

The mum shared the footage of her one-year-old daughter Z'Naria, where she guides her through each step of escaping the car.

At the beginning of the video, Aprianna is heard saying, "Get out. Get out of your seat and open the door for us," while she instructs her child on how to unbuckle the seat belt.

Once she's out of the seat, the mum says, "Get in the front," as the baby climbs through the car to the driver's seat. She adorably falls onto the seat, then stands right back up and begins unlocking the door.

The baby makes the whole process look super easy - she just lifts up the lock and the door opens.

The one-year-old is then swooped up to safety in her grandma's arms.

You might be wondering how the baby got locked inside in the first place.

"Left the keys in the ignition"

Speaking to Newsweek,  Aprianna says the incident occurred while she was visiting a cemetery with her grandma to pay respect to some relatives.

"Because we weren't staying long I left the keys in the ignition and got out to get the baby.

"Her door was locked so I told my grandmother to unlock the door," she said.

"Instead of her unlocking the door she locked ALL the doors of the car and shut the door."

Aprianna added that she understood that the maneuvers her baby pulled off were "above and beyond" what is expected of children in her age bracket, and that's why she captured the whole thing.

'These pandemic babies have superpowers'

Commenters were equally as stunned, with one person saying, "So smart!!! I'm surprised she didn't start the car and drive off!!

Another added, "Never stop challenging her!! This baby is smart. There is no limit."

"This is how you know that they watch everything, and they can do what we say. Priceless," a third wrote.

Someone jokingly commented, "These damn pandemic babies have superpowers!"

Amongst the praise, a few commenters pointed out some overlooked details in the video.

"Ok, she wasn’t strapped in properly, 🥺" one said, referencing how easy it was for the baby to get out of her seat.

Many others noticed that the baby was too big for that seat and also facing the wrong way.

Aprianna shared a follow-up video addressing these claims where she asks users to donate to her so she can buy a bigger, safer seat for her daughter.
