Mum's controversial supermarket move after stranger touched her baby bump

"I wish I had your balls when I was pregnant!" someone said after hearing about the "iconic" revenge.

The early symptoms of pregnancy

A mum-to-be, sick of people rubbing her baby bump without permission, took matters into her own hands recently and decided enough was enough.

In a post on Reddit, the anonymous woman said that even though she was looking forward to having her baby, it hasn't been smooth sailing thus far.

"I'm in the f**king trenches," she says, elaborating, "that means nausea and vomiting almost every single day, food aversions and gestational hypertension."

The unwelcome supermarket encounter

Last week, she decided to go grocery shopping to "feel like an actual human being for 25 minutes" but instantly regretted it when a stranger decided to take that away from her and make her feel like an object.

"This lady in her '50s actually reached out and touched my belly out of f**ing nowhere and was like 'Awww is it a boy or a girl?'" the mum recalled.

And here comes the worst part.

"Her hand was positioned like right where my shirt meets my pants so I could actually feel part of her hand on my bare skin."

So, what did the mum do?

"I reached over and grabbed her boob," she explained.

"Now when I say 'grab', I mean more that I placed my hand on top of her boob until she pulled away pretty much instantly.

"And she just looked at me with this absolutely aghast face and I was just like 'not great huh??' and walked away."

"You're my hero"

When she recounted the moment to her husband, he backed her up and agreed that the other woman had no business touching her. However, the OP's mum didn't see it that way and said she shouldn't have touched another person's breast.

But the mum-to-be argued: "I don't see how it's much different from what she did to me."

So, she turned to the forum for opinions and hundreds of mums weighed in and said that the boob grab was "iconic" and the "perfect" way to handle the situation and teach the woman a lesson.

"I wish I had your balls when I was pregnant!" said one.

"I'm so proud of her for putting that lady in her place. People need to leave pregnant bellies alone!" said a second.

And a third replied: "This is kind of rad."

Another lamented: "Women lose all agency when pregnant. You get everyone from your family to complete strangers lecturing you on what you are and are not allowed to do in case it hurts the baaaaby. You get told you can't drive, can't have sex, can't stay out late, can't work, can't do anything but prepare for the baaaaby. You are not a person; you're an incubator."

However, others voted for "ESH", meaning "everyone here sucks", saying that the revenge grope wasn't the correct response, no matter how inconsiderate the older woman was being.

"I don't think all physical responses are inappropriate here, and if OP had pushed her off or slapped her, I'd be on team NTA. But the boob grab isn't the right way to go," said one.

Another agreed: "I can understand what it’s like to be pregnant and not want random strangers just placing their hands on you, and the lady that did this is definitely an asshole, but I’m sure she didn’t MEAN to be and to immediately react by grabbing her chest and not even saying a word is equally sucky."
