Guide to Anzac Day services throughout Tasmania

ABOUT 100 Tasmanian towns and cities from Avoca to Zeehan will stage more than 300 Anzac Day events on Tuesday.

SERVICES will be held throughout Tasmania on Tuesday to commemorate the 101st Anzac Day.

About 100 towns and cities from Avoca to Zeehan will stage more than 300 dawn, mid-morning or afternoon services, parades, breakfasts, lunches and other events to observe the 101st commemoration of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli on April 25, 1915.

Many people proudly wear the medals of deceased family members on Anzac Day and the Returned and Services League encourages people to wear these on the right breast, which indicates the awards are not their own.

Tasmania Police and local councils urge drivers to exercise caution in areas where services are being held, particularly during the dawn services where visibility will be poor.

The following guide to Anzac Day services around the state has been compiled with the assistance of Tasmania’s RSL Clubs and Sub-Branches, municipal councils and others.
