‘Leave him’: Wife’s running video exposes grim marriage trend
A wife who was stunned by her husband’s unexpected question mid-race has exposed a concerning trend that is seemingly on the rise.
A wife who was stunned by her husband’s unexpected question mid-race has exposed a concerning marriage trend that is seemingly on the rise.
American mum Nancy took to TikTok to share a video of herself running her second half-marathon in California.
But the clip has quickly become yet another video that has gone viral for showing a man interrupting his partner during an important running event.
As she runs past her husband, he can be heard asking a question she isn’t expecting mid-race.
“Not my husband asking where [our daughter’s clothes are] in the middle of my race,” she captioned the clip.
The mum instinctively responds, telling her other half that the clothes are in the drawers, in their child’s bedroom.
“Not me trying to run away from my responsibilities and they still catch me,” she continued.
But while Nancy appeared to make light of the unfortunate situation, commenters on the post were fuming on her behalf, claiming her husband shouldn’t be interrupting her in that moment.
“Slowing her down to ask stupid questions …” one person said.
“But, where else would they be if not the drawer in her room?” another asked.
“Immediate NO,” said a third, along with a red flag emoji.
“No ‘congrats’, no ‘keep going’, no ‘I’m proud of you’ …?” said another.
The video has been the subject of a number of scathing response videos, with some even urging Nancy to “leave him”.
But, in the comments, she assured the over 600,000 viewers that it just wasn’t that deep.
“He thought I set aside an outfit for her which is why he was asking …” she said.
“The video was just meant to be funny.”
But, as we know all too well, this isn’t the first time a man has come under fire for interrupting his partner’s marathon run.
Widely considered to be the ‘original’ event, a dad was called out back in May 2024 for waiting until his wife was about to cross the finish line to push their kids out in front of her.
The woman swerved, ultimately finishing in first place. And, he copped plenty of flack for treating her achievement as if it were no big deal.
In March, a man was called selfish for proposing to his girlfriend as she finished a marathon in Wales.
The comments were flooded with people asking why she couldn’t have one thing to herself, saying that he stole her moment.
Just a few months ago, a woman running the Rotterdam marathon went viral thanks to a video of her partner running in to kiss her as she closed in on the finish line, forcing her to slow down before she was able to continue on.
And, last month, Florida runner Katie shared a clip of her boyfriend telling her mid-marathon that he’d taken all of her spare snacks to eat for himself.
So, men, can you let women have one thing? Please?
