A new addition to Kmart’s range of this popular kitchen appliance comes with a detail that is being touted as a cooking lifesaver.

Ask anyone who has an air fryer and they will tell you it’s a game changer in the kitchen.

The appliance will cook food to crispy perfection in less time than it takes using a stovetop or oven – and also without the need for oil or frying.

The only downside is most air fryers only contain one oven compartment, which makes cooking more than one food at the same time tricky.

It’s why Kmart shoppers are so excited about the discount department store’s latest model in its air fryer range, which comes complete with two oven compartments.

Priced at $129, the Anko Twin Air Fryer has two 4.5L drawers with adjustable temperatures of up to 200C.

It also has an LED control panel with 11 preset functions, as well as a one-hour timer that will automatically switch off the appliance if it is no longer being used.

Shoppers were quick to share their excitement on Facebook after shopping account Addicted To Bargains posted about the new air fryer addition.

“It’s amazing! It’s been used multiple times a day every day since we got it,” one person wrote.

“I have the Ninja version of this and it’s amazing. Can do meat in one side and veggies in the other,” another commented.

Others said it would “solve most of my problems when cooking” and mean you could “actually cook the whole meal at once”.

But some warned that when cooking for a family, the two air fryer drawers may not be big enough, with one person complaining it was too “tiny” for their meal.

How does an air fryer work?

Air fryers cook meals by circulating hot air around food, creating a crispy outside similar to deep-fried food.

They’re popular for cooking some foods faster than a conventional oven as well as not heating up an entire room – a must when cooking during summer.

According to Healthline, you can use just one teaspoon of oil to make fries in an air fryer that taste almost identical to the much less healthy deep-fried version.

Because of this, the cooking gadget has been labelled as a sneaky way to lose weight – however, one dietitian warned that it won’t magically make unhealthy foods suddenly better.

“But if you’re using your air fryer to whip up treats all day long, I’ve got some bad news. You see, a brownie is still a brownie, regardless of how it’s cooked,” Melissa Meier wrote for Body + Soul.

“My suggestion is to simply exercise a little common sense with your air fryer if good health is on your radar – veg, wholegrains and lean proteins are good-for-you, everyday foods that can form the basis of a healthy meal, while chocolate, pastry and butter are not.”
