Cadbury has defended its Easter chocolate range after a number of customers claimed on various social media platforms that it “tasted different”.

Many Aussies questioned whether the chocolate giant had changed the recipe after alleging the sweet treat didn’t have the same flavour it the company is famous for.

After many customers took to social media to vent their feelings, the confectionary brand issued a statement, quickly denying any alteration to the beloved product.

“We haven’t received feedback directly and can confirm there’s been no change to the recipe,” a spokesperson from Cadbury told news.com.au.

Customers appeared to disagree, with many taking to social media to vent their frustrations after purchasing chocolate bunnies and eggs for friends and family.

TikTok user Ashrhianna was one such person who had a bone to pick over Cadbury’s Easter range, saying she knew she wasn’t the only one complaining about it.

Customers question Cadbury chocolate

“I know everyone is saying Cadbury eggs taste really weird this time, but when we opened up all our Easter bunnies, this is what was all over our chocolate,” she said.

An image of her chocolate showed it was covered in white markings, almost as though the chocolate was discoloured.

“We stored in a normal place. Literally every single bunny we got we had to go and ‘meet up with the Easter bunny’ and replace the chocolate. Does anyone else think it taste weird,” she said.

“We couldn’t work it out.”

Ashrhianna then addressed the chocolate giant, asking “what they were doing”.

Miles also said she had a “bone to pick” with Cadbury over the Cadbury Dairy Milk 24 hunting hollow eggs following the Easter long weekend.

“The little ones still the same, still good. These ones taste like trash. They’ve changed the recipe, or done something to the recipe, and they taste awful,” Miles said.

“They’re not good. They were great last year. This year? Trash, absolute trash. What have you done to these?”
