Rebel Wilson announces that she is now a mum, via surrogacy

The joyous news comes after the star spoke openly about her longing to become a mum.

Rebel Wilson comes out, introduces fans to new girlfriend

Rebel Wilson has had a difficult fertility journey, but can finally announce the birth of her daughter, Royce Lillian.

Australian actor Rebel Wilson has long talked about her journey towards motherhood, a goal she’s had for a while now.

It was partially the reason she embarked on her ‘Year of Health’ to put her in the best position to have children despite her polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

After years of longing to be a mum, today she has announced the birth of her first child, via surrogacy, in the past week.

She also announced the name of her little one, a girl, and it’s very ‘in theme’ given that her name is Rebel and her partner’s name is Ramona.

The baby is called Royce Lillian.

“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! Wilson shared on Instagram.

“I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), and this has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.

“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The best gift!!”

Rebel went on to explain that she is ‘ready’ to give her little one ‘all the love imaginable’.

“I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club.”

We’re not crying, you are.

Rebel’s fertility journey hasn’t been the smoothest of trails, with the star sharing a few snippets of how difficult it’s been online. We are sure that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In May 2021, she took to her social media to share that she’d had some bad news from her fertility experts.

“I got some bad news today and didn't have anyone to share it with...but I guess I gotta tell someone,” Wilson wrote in the caption.

“To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn't make sense... but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds.”

One year later, she hinted that she had progressed in her fertility journey, with the help of more new-age fertility options.

“I would love to have a family. I'm just going for it by myself at the moment because of the biological clock,” she told People. “If I meet the right person, great, and then they can fit in with whatever happens. It's great that the technology exists.”

“You have so many options with surrogacy and sperm donors. I only started thinking of fertility when I was 39 so you feel quite late but then there are women in their mid-40s who've been successful. Look at Janet Jackson, it's pretty inspiring."

We’re so happy for Rebel. A huge congratulations!
