Comedian Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann has revealed he underwent emergency surgery while on holiday in Italy.

Lehmo said after suffering severe pain for two days he sought medical help in Milan.

It turned out to be a case of acute appendicitis.

“Did not have this on the original travel itinerary,’’ Lehmo posted to social media.

“On the upside, the emergency ward is the one place I’ve seen no other tourists.

“Severe stomach pain started 2 days ago and was getting worse. Arrived in Milan and got a doctor to the hotel room. He sent me to emergency with my passport and a note from him.”

Lehmo said the episode was karma for complaining about prices in Venice.

He arrived at emergency at 4.30pm and was wheeled into surgery by 10.30pm.

“Headline: I’m doing the ok!

“Came out of surgery, sans appendix, at 11:45pm.

“It’s now 4:30am and I’ll be here for at least today. I’m feeling a little sore and but generally good. I have received extraordinary care here in Milan. Despite the language barrier, every single health care professional I’ve dealt with has had a smile on their face, filled me with confidence and done an incredible job. Grazie Italy.”

Lehmo, his wife Kelly and their son Laddie have been travelling through Europe for the past two weeks.
