A British host has been left speechless on live TV while watching the promo for Meghan and Harry’s Netflix documentary, as he pointed out the brutal “dig” at Prince William and Kate Middleton.

GB News presenter Patrick Christys appeared to convulse after watching the one-minute trailer, which closes out with the Duchess of Sussex saying, “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear the story from us?”

A visibly floored Christys reacted in sheer disgust after seeing the sneak preview, saying, “Oh my days. I tell you what, I didn’t think it was possible to create something quite as cringe-worthy as that.”

Christys then pointed out a glaring moment in the trailer, in which a gloomy photo of Will and Kate – the one and only time they’re featured – flashes onscreen.

In the clip, Harry is heard saying, “No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors”, when a pointed black and white photo of the Prince and Princess of Wales is shown, right before it transitions to a stoic picture of Meghan at the Queen’s funeral.

“Did anyone else notice the snide dig at William and Kate? ‘Evil Kate! Evil Kate! [But] Meghan stood proud anyway,’” he said, mockingly.

“It does make Kate look evil, doesn’t it?”

It’s fair to say the trailer’s release is not ideal timing for William and Kate, who just embarked on day one of their first tour of the US in eight years.

Elsewhere in Christys’ report, he capped off his assessment with an almighty take-down of Harry, who is seen saying in the promo, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”

Christys added, “So he did what he could to protect his family by throwing the vast majority of them under the bus, tarnishing the royals’ reputation, making the final moments of Prince Philip’s and our dear Queen’s lives uncomfortable, doing an Oprah interview that attempted to turn the royal family into a soap opera … By taking hundreds and millions of pounds to sell out his own father and brother.

“It’s sad and pathetic. Move on.”

It comes as the long-awaited documentary as part of the Sussexes multimillion-dollar Netflix deal is finally set to be released next week.

The trailer also showed a collage of never-before-seen photos of Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, including snaps from their wedding, pregnancies and candid loved-up selfies of the pair.

But there were also plenty of sadder moments littered throughout, including three moments showing Meghan breaking down in tears.

Given the emotionally-charged tone of the short teaser, it’s fair to assume the pair will delve further into what led them to quit royal life and move abroad to the US in early 2020.

The series is named Harry and Meghan and said to be six-episodes in length, giving viewers an insight into the pair’s “love story”. But it appears there’s going to be several royal bombs dropped throughout.

Multiple reports suggest the Duke and Duchess of Sussex requested a delay to the show following a chaotic period for the royal family, including the Queen’s death in September.

The couple are understood to have wanted to push the controversial TV series back to 2023 amid backlash over the new series of The Crown, which is chronicling the breakdown of Charles and Diana’s marriage.
