Trump tell-all Fire and Fury goes down a storm in North Korea

NORTH Korea’s workers party has had a field day with Fire and Fury, publishing a glowing review of the book that “foretells Trump’s political demise”.

Trump says he's open to talks with North Korea

AMONG the Trump critics and publishing industry boffins rubbing their hands together at the success of Michael Wolff’s latest book, there is an unlikely member.

North Korea’s workers party appears to be having a field day with the publication that is based on more than 200 interviews and White House sources.

Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House paints a chaotic picture of the Trump administration furnished with nuggets of gossip about Trump’s hairstyle, eating habits and marriage. It has also caused a split in his relationship with former chief of staff Steve Bannon, whom he now refers to as “Sloppy Steve” on Twitter.

The book shot to the top of US charts with 29,000 hard copies and 250,000 digital copies sold in a week and is now stocked around the world. That’s despite Trump’s lawyers efforts to get the publication blocked.

News of it has even spread to North Korea, where the newspaper of the Workers’ Party, Rodong Sinmum carried a review of its subject matter, including Trump’s reaction.

The article said sales reflect “rapidly surging anti-Trump sentiments in the international community,” AP reports.

“The anti-Trump book is sweeping all over the world so Trump is being massively humiliated worldwide,” it said, adding that it “foretells Trump’s political demise”.

The title of the book is taken from Trump’s threat to unleash “fire and fury” on North Korea following missile tests carried out by Kim Jong Un.

He has also repeatedly called the North Korean leader “Rocket Man” and bragged over the size of his “nuclear button”. Meanwhile Kim mocked him as a “mentally deranged US dotard”.

However the North Korean leader provided a stark change of tone at his New Year’s address in which he appeared in a Western-style grey suit and said North Korea would consider sending athletes to the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The two countries have held talks as a step towards achieving that reality, while South Korean leader Moon Jae-In has said he would be willing to speak with Kim face-to-face.
