FESTIVAL goers are discovering a whole new use for the little flame icon among their smartphone apps with ‘Festival Mode’.
Tinder has this year partnered with Falls Festival to deliver the new feature to Tasmanian revellers as well as those at the three other Falls’ locations around the country.
The globally famed dating app debuted its Festival Mode function at Splendour in the Grass earlier this year to help music-lovers and revellers “find your crowd” and connect and chat with fellow festival goers “as they bond over the finest international and locals acts”.
The new experience aims to make meeting people “faster, easier and more fun”.

Country manager of Tinder Australia, Kristen Hardemann, said festivals were a great place to meet new mates.
“Music brings people together,” she said.
“So while you’ll arrive to a festival with your core group of friends, you often leave with a completely new crowd.
“By partnering with some of Australia’s biggest music festivals, Festival Mode gives you the opportunity to connect and start chatting before you even arrive.”
To use Festival Mode at Falls Festival 2019/20, look for the Festival Mode card on Tinder and match with it to add the festival badge to your profile.
From there you can see everyone else heading to Falls and start matching and chatting with fellow festival goers before the event even kicks off.
