Tracy Grimshaw has hit back at reports she’s set to make a return on A Current Affair, less than one year after vacating the hosting chair.
The beloved media personality left the prime time news program last November after 17 years at the helm, and was replaced by Today show anchor Ally Langdon.
However, this week Woman’s Day magazine claimed Grimshaw was staging a comeback for a “secret project” amid a few hush-hush meetings behind the scenes.
But Grimshaw has since rubbished the report, denying any “sneaky” meetings took place as she hasn’t returned to Nine’s North Sydney HQ since she left the building seven months ago.
“This is not true,” she tweeted today. “I’m not coming back to ACA, I haven’t been into the office this year, no sneaky meetings, and I’ve always said I may do something else next year, that hasn’t changed.”

In its article, Woman’s Day claimed Grimshaw had been low-key visiting Nine’s studios this past month to pitch new ideas to TV executives.
According to the magazine, Grimshaw was telling friends she “made a big mistake” and misses the “thrill of TV”.
“She has so much time on her hands and has been watching Ally flourish, and it’s made her miss the thrill of TV,” a source told the outlet. “She’s started to think that maybe she isn’t done after all.”
Langdon had big shoes to fill but she’s stepped up to the plate. According to numbers released by Nine in March, ACA recorded its highest rating episode of the year with an average audience of 1.1 million.
It’s believed when Grimshaw was host in March 2022, she pulled in 30,000 fewer viewers.
Grimshaw filmed her final episode of ACA back in November, where she was given the final minutes of the show to say her goodbyes to both colleagues and viewers.
“We are your show and the million of you, who watch every night, know that,” said an emotional Grimshaw. “Thank you. Without you there would be no us.”
“To our reporters, producers, editors, camera crews, unit manager, the lawyers, the studio teams, hair and makeup and wardrobe, thank you.”
