Twelve-year-old girl wows America’s got Talent audience, receives ultimate prize from judge Mel B

A TWELVE-year-old girl who asked her parents to buy her a puppet to overcome shyness has wowed audiences on America’s Got Talent.

A TWELVE-year-old girl who asked her parents to buy her a puppet to overcome her shyness has wowed audiences after an inspiring audition on America’s Got Talent.

Little Darcy Lynne Farmer is just one of a handful of outstanding performers on the show that gives everyday people the opportunity to showcase their extraordinary talent.

In her ventriloquist act, Darci Lynne Farmer, from Oklahoma City, used a rabbit puppet named Petunia to perform a stunning rendition of Ella Fitzgerald’s Summertime.

But it was how she reached such high notes with so little movement of her mouth that impressed the judges, and when she burst into tears at the end of the performance, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

She was met with a standing ovation from the crowd and judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B.

Ms Farmer said it was one of her “big dreams” to go on the show and she hoped to “keep ventriloquism alive because it’s not common” in today’s modern age.

“You make my heart melt, you are brilliant,” said Mel B.

“I’m trying to describe how amazing it was,” she described before smashing the “Golden Buzzer”, an ultimate prize in the America’s Got Talent show because judges may only press it once per season.

“Ventriloquism kind of helped me find my voice. It’s really helped me come out of my shell. My shyness is getting better,” Darci said.

But can Darci compete with this piano pecking chicken, who also melted hearts for its patriotic melodies?

“Jokgu” the chicken stole the show on the season’s debut this week, who performs as part of a group called “The Flockstars”.

“One of the most incredible things I’ve seen on one of these shows,” judge Simon Cowell said.

We can’t help but agree.

Here’s a few of our other favourites. Can you beat their talents?
