The Voice Australia: Boy George tells Seal: ‘Don’t threaten me!’

IT started out as a bit of fun but the mutual teasing turned personal between the two male Voice coaches as they bickered over a contestant.

Seal and Boy George clash on The Voice

DELTA Goodrem joked that she was “kinda terrified” after Seal and Boy George had a spat on the set of The Voice.

The two British singers exchanged words on tonight’s episode as they each tried to convince 31-year-old contestant Rennie Adams to join their team after his brilliant performance of Tiny Dancer.

In his pitch Seal assured the contestant from NSW that he was the best coach to pick if he wanted a successful music career.

But Boy George wasn’t buying it.

“Seal always says this like he’s the only one up here who can do that,” the Culture Club singer said.

The sass-factor then went up a notch when Seal reminded Boy George that he’s had success on the reality show as a coach before.

“Do your Google’s, mate,” he said, “I’ve won it twice”.

Boy George responded with a particularly shady line, telling Seal, “I have heard of you, it’s OK”.

The big-hat-loving star continued: “You can’t win everything, babe. You’re talking about you wining. We’re talking to him about what he’s doing, not what you’re doing. There’s a lot of ego up here and that’s just Seal!”

Fellow coach Kelly Rowland didn’t know where to look during the confrontation and could be heard saying, “Oh my god!”

Once the bickering had subsided, Rennie Adams picked Seal to be his coach and the elated Kiss from a Rose singer offered Boy George a somewhat sarcastic fist bump.

He then warned Boy George to “be careful”, but the Karma Chameleon singer refused to be intimidated.

“Be very careful?” Boy George said to Kelly Rowland, “What does that even mean?”

He turned to the audience and mocked Seal by saying, “Apparently I’ve got to be careful. That’s never gonna happen, love!”

His rant continued during an interview with a producer when he complained about Seal taking the competition too seriously.

“I don’t get all bent out of shape if I don’t get someone,” Boy George said.

“I’m here to have fun and I’m not going to be told by anyone to ‘watch myself.’ Don’t threaten me, babe. It’s not gonna work.”

And finally Boy George suggested that we can expect even more fireworks between him and Seal, saying they’ll make last year’s feud between Delta Goodrem and Jessie J “look like bloody puss in boots”.
