The Block’s Eliza Paschke has revealed she was left “fighting for [her] life” after being sexually assaulted during a night out in Melbourne.
Eliza, who appeared alongside her sister Liberty on the 2023 season of the reality TV show, opened up for the first time about the attack on her podcast, Try Before You Die.
Referencing the rise in violence against women across the news, she said she felt compelled to share her own story, which began after her drink was spiked in St Kilda on Australia Day in 2019.

Eliza, 38, had been enjoying a night out with friends and explained that she ordered an Uber before midnight. She remembers being outside the venue but then “everything goes black from there”.
When she came to more than four hours later, she said she was “splayed out laying down” in the back seat of a car, with an unknown man holding her down.
“There’s a man laying down directly on top of me. His full body weight is holding me down. My arms are pinned underneath him,” Eliza told listeners.
“I start screaming. I’m saying, get the f**k off me. I’m just letting out these blood-curdling screams of terror and anger.”
Eliza explained that she managed to escape before the man raped her.
“I’m just wailing, and I’m literally fighting for my life. And then bizarrely, after a while, this scumbag of a man, I think literally just realises I’m going to be too hard to overcome, and he gives up. And he stops, and he slowly gets up,” she said.
Eliza took the opportunity and decided to “just run”.
“It’s pitch black and I run and I run and I run,” she told her sister.

She later discovered she was not in the Uber, as she’d initially believed, and had also been taken to the neighbouring suburb of Hawthorn.
After hiding in a side street for a period of time, she eventually called a taxi and was able to get home, later reporting the incident to police.
Eliza also explained how she knew she’d had her drink spiked.
“I was drinking slowly, I was tracking my drinks – what I said I drank was a perfect match to what was charged to my bank account,” she said.
“I was having waters, I ate food. And my memory before and after the assault was so vivid.
“I’ve never passed out or blacked out before.”
However, there have been “no further updates” on the case, and Eliza revealed that the last time she heard from police was in December 2021.
The reality TV contestant and podcaster said she had chosen to share her story now to help raise awareness for the issue of sexual assault.
