HOUSE Rules villains Fiona and Nicole had their renovation attempt picked apart on Sunday night, with the judges slamming their room as “satanic hideousness”.
The controversial team, who were dubbed “ungrateful” by viewers last week, were responsible for transforming the lounge room and laundry in the family home of Adelaide couple Kate and Harry.
Given the theme of “boho”, Fiona and Nicole failed to hit the mark.
Entering the lounge room, the three judges decided the gallery wall was a mild success but were unimpressed with everything else.
“Why is everything else so rubbish?” Laurence said.
He added: “There is stuff of such satanic hideousness.”
Host Johanna Griggs was tasked with sharing the judges’ feedback with Fiona and Nicole. And she deserves a Gold Logie nomination for delivering the following line with a straight face.
“Laurence said it was hobo. Not boho,” she deadpanned.
Looking around, all judges agreed it looked like someone had left their washing on the couch.
During the renovation process, Fiona and Nicole went against the homeowners’ wishes for open plan living by leaving a massive wall in the living room.
“To go completely against the homeowners wishes and not create that open plan space ... for me, I think, it feels a little bit arrogant,” judge Wendy said.
Given this feedback by Johanna Griggs, the pair were adamant they made the right decision.
“It’s too easy to be ordinary. We’re not ordinary,” Nicole said.
“We’re risk takers,” Fiona added.
And the risk didn’t pay off.
After the judges viewed the laundry that had a massive print of Kate Moss on the wall for absolutely no reason, Fiona and Nicole were given their scores.
Receiving 13 points out of 30, they placed last on the leaderboard along with Gold Coast couple Aaron and Daniella.
House Rules continues Monday night at 7.30pm on Seven.
