Matty J cops hilarious sledging on Have You Been Paying Attention

THE Bachelor himself dropped by quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention last night — and soon found he and his reality show the butt of every joke.

BACHELOR star Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson made a cameo appearance on Ten quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? last night — and kept his cool in the face of a barrage of jokes at his expense.

Johnson joined host Tom Gleisner for a Bachelor-themed segment of the quiz show — but all bets were off among the comedians competing, including Sam Pang, Celia Pacquola and Mick Molloy.

Matty J cops sledge after sledge.

First, British comic Georgie Carroll buttered Matty J up with a compliment: “You’re not like a normal bachelor, are you? The bachelors I know live with their mum and eat zooper-doopers for breakfast,” she told him.

But when Gleisner said that the Bachelor had “kindly agreed” to help out with the segment, Pang interjected: “Kindly? Kindly, yeah. Contractually obligated.”

Matty J took the opportunity to reiterate his comments from a recent episode of the reality dating show, once again insisting that everything he says and does on screen is his own choice, and he’s no puppet for the producers.

“And who told you to say that?” quipped Pacquola.

From there, the reality star managed to keep smiling as he faced a barrage of jokes about everything from Osher offering the female contestants morning-after pills as rewards to Molloy’s insistece that the show’s group dates “have kind of a Bill Cosby feel”.

The comics were shown brief snippets from The Bachelor and asked to fill in the blanks. As one particularly dramatic reaction shot aired, Matty J asked them what had elicited such a reaction.

“Was Osher in a suit that fit him?” asked Pang.

Another clip saw Bachelor hopeful Simone tearfully announcing she was about to confront her worst fear. What had Matty J been asking her to do?

“Wear a bra?” asked a straight-faced Pacquola.

Johnson made it through the segment in one piece, but not before Molloy offered him some constructive criticism.

“I’m not a purist mate, but there’s no need to stop a rose ceremony. It’s too much,” he said, tongue planted firmly in cheek.
