BEING part of the Kardashian-Jenner family comes with an overwhelming amount of perks but, it also comes with plenty of negatives.
Specifically, being surrounded by cameras 24/7 and having to constantly keep up their picture perfect image.
Kim Kardashian’s three-year-old daughter North West was recently filmed screaming at paparazzi “no more pictures” and it seems like her aunty Kylie Jenner is also tiring of the spotlight.
In a new trailer for her docu-series Life of Kylie, Jenner speaks about the struggles of growing up in the public eye and hints at walking away from it all.
“When you grow up on camera, everybody feels like they know you, but, they don’t,” she says.
“I started filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians when I was nine-years-old. I don’t think any of us knew what we were getting ourselves into.”
Since being on the hugely successful reality show, Jenner has gone on to build a makeup and clothing empire and is getting ready to crack 94 million followers on Instagram — all before she turns 20 in August.
“You do feel pressure to not let anybody down. Nobody has a perfect life. I am not totally innocent because I am keeping up this lifestyle,” she says.
And, it’s that exact pressure that Jenner seems to be struggling with.
“I can’t do it forever,” she tells the camera.
Jenner’s company Kylie Cosmetics is already estimated to be worth over US $400 million but despite being a successful businesswoman, the reality star insists many people still don’t understand who she is.
“I feel like a lot of people have misconceptions about who I am,” Jenner says.
“There’s two sides of me, there’s an image that I feel constantly pressured to keep up with and then who I really am around my friends,” she adds.
Life of Kylie, an eight-episode half-hour show, will follow the young American as she navigates her life as an entrepreneur, fashion designer, author, social media star and CEO/Founder of Kylie Cosmetics. It will also document her personal (and romantic) life.
It premieres on July 6 on the US channel E!
