WITH their wedding set to happen any day now, Tim Robards has revealed exactly how he proposed to Anna Heinrich.
They first met and fell in love during season one of The Bachelor Australia in 2013, and are one of the few couples from the franchise who have managed to go the distance.
The reality TV romance kicked up a notch last May, when Robards, 35, got down on one knee and asked Heinrich, 31, to marry him.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, Robards described how — during a romantic trip to Chamberlain Gorge in Western Australia’s Kimberley — he suggested they take a dinghy out on the crocodile-infested water.
Despite the 40-degree day, Robards wore a collared shirt over board shorts — which struck Heinrich as strange.
“He never wears a shirt, so I was like, ‘Tim, why do you have a shirt on still?’” she told the magazine.
Robards added that his heart was “thumping” as he tried to find the perfect moment — while also flying his drone overhead.
“And I’m trying not to crash my drone and I’m also about to propose. And I say, ‘You know what would be good right now? A bloody cold beer.’ And then I say, ‘What would make it better for you?’ And she goes, ‘I don’t know, a cold washer?’ So I say … ‘What if I professed my love for you and said every moment in the last whatever years has been amazing?’
“I was already on my knees. I reached in my pocket, and I had a little box, and she just started bawling.”
Although the couple has remained tight-lipped on details, it’s understood their destination wedding will take place sometime this month.
Given that they’ve been posting loved-up pictures in Italy this week, it seems likely that day is getting pretty close.
