Evicted Big Brother housemate Holly tells all about her relationship with Colin

There’s 10 years and a gulf of life experience between them – with Holly out of the Big Brother house, will her romance with Colin continue?

Controversial Big Brother contestant Holly

One of this season’s most talked-about contestants, WA model Holly, was evicted from the Big Brother house in Sunday’s finale.

Her eviction came minutes after the show aired yet another tense house discussion about her PDAs with aspiring MMA fighter Colin, the pair having remained close since day one.

This time around, it was virtually an intervention, with every remaining housemate sitting in a circle around the lovestruck pair and voicing their complaints about their regular displays of affection.

Holly didn’t take the advice well, later complaining that she was stuck in a house of “Karens.”

Speaking to news.com.au the morning after her eviction, Holly said she was surprised to find her connection with Colin had proven so offensive to her fellow housemates.

“If Colin and I were just walking down the street, people would not bat an eyelid. It’s one of the things I tried to communicate with the housemates: If you saw us down the beach or at the pub, it wouldn’t be a big deal,” she said.

“But it made the whole experience uncomfortable for me, because I felt like I had to defend us the entire time. It was just that constant ‘Karen’ activity, nitpicking everything we did. And then that meeting [in Sunday’s episode]: That was an ambush. Those family meetings are going to give me severe PTSD.”

Colin and Holly were inseparable in the house – and it drove their fellow housemates up the wall.

Holly made a surprise announcement during last night’s eviction, revealing live on stage to host Mel Tracina that she’d broken one of the show’s rules and had secretly used her lipstick to pen a note to Colin before her departure (contestants are not allowed to write while they’re in the house).

She wouldn’t tell us what she’d written in the note, saying she wanted to keep one part of her Big Brother experience private and saying only that she wanted to “share a little bit of love” to a housemate she can’t wait to see again on the outside.

Holly seems hopeful the pair can rekindle their romance once Colin’s out of the house, despite being a somewhat unlikely match.

There’s a 10-year age gap between them but also a gulf of life experience: At 31, Holly’s been a successful international model with high profile exes including Olympian Usain Bolt and Luxe Listings real estate agent Gavin Rubinstein. By contrast, 21-year-old Colin seems very much his age (if not a little younger), an emotional housemate who can often be heard complaining that he misses his mum.

Despite their differences, Holly insists she “didn’t really feel the age gap.”

“I think he’s a lot more mature than he’s portrayed. He is such a strong, kind-hearted boy. I think with me having the experience of travelling and seeing all of the things I’ve experienced, it’s really shown me what I don’t want. To see this beautiful side of him … I actually think he’s quite a courageous boy, and such a sweetheart,” she said.

“And you know what? One of the best things about life is the unexpected.”

Big Brother continues 7:30pm tonight on Ten.
