SHE one ran across India and South Africa, and last week ran 130 kilometres in a relay run from Adelaide to Melbourne, but Melbourne’s Samantha Gash still found Australian Survivor incredibly tough.
Gash, who is a lawyer by trade but has made her name as one of the Australia’s best long distance endurance runners, is tipped to be one of the most talked about contestants at the start of this year’s series.
Recently returning from Samoa, Gash loved her time on the show, but it wasn’t a walk in the park.
“The show is so much more complicated then people give it credit for, watching from their couch,” she said.

“It was hard from the moment you stepped on to the island.
“Then once you leave, it’s hard to understand what you just went through and it takes a while to process things.
“It was one of the most unique things I’ve chosen to put myself through, and I learnt a lot about myself.
“It was amazing, but it was definitely tough.”

The early word from insiders on Australian Survivor, which starts on Channel 10 next Sunday night at 7.30pm, is that the game play between the contestants is much fiercer compared to last year.
This will please the dedicated super fans of the show.
Gash believes this season will be just as good as the American version.
Filming of the series has finished in Samoa, and this year there will be a live final hosted by Jonathan LaPaglia.
