D INOSAUR REVOLUTION: SECRETS OF SURVIVAL

TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY, HOBART, 10AM-4PM

It’s your final chance to step back in time and see the dinosaurs at TMAG before they’re gone. Spread across four galleries, the interactive Dinosaur rEvolution exhibition explores the evolutionary links between dinosaurs and birds, complete with four animatronic dinosaurs designed by Tasmanian company Gondwana Studios. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-4pm. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 concession, $7 children (aged 3-15), free for children under 3. $35 for a family (two adults and up to three children). Hawks fans are invited to UTAS Stadium today to watch Hawthorn players in their final training session ahead of tomorrow’s Round 6 clash against Carlton. There will be a jumping castle, face painting, giveaways, player signings and free entertainment from 3.30pm (facebook.com/events/2214134862182597). Return to the stadium tomorrow to see The Blues take on our hometown heroes for the Alec Campbell Cup, a salute to Australia’s last Anzac, Tasmania’s Alec Campbell, who died in 2002. Luke Heggie is one of Australia’s most in demand stand-up comedians. His dry one-liners quickly gained praise after his debut in comedy when he won Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Raw Comedy in 2010. AGFEST

QUERCUS RURAL YOUTH PARK, CARRICK, THURS-SAT, 8AM-5PM

Agfest has grown from a small field day with 100 exhibitors in 1983 to become Tasmania’s premier agricultural event, with more than 700 exhibitors and 65,000 patrons passing through the gates over three days. From agricultural machinery and livestock displays to banking and finance advice, horticulture displays and homewares, the annual event’s packed program offers something for everyone. Early bird tickets are $20 adults, $15 seniors, $5 for children aged 5-17 (kids under 5 are free) or $50 for a family (two adults and up to three children). BRAHMS VIOLIN CONCERTO

Like his idol Beethoven, Brahms wrote only one Violin Concerto and, like Beethoven’s, it’s a work of enduring appeal. It is to be performed in this concert by Stefan Jackiw, making his much-anticipated debut with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
