WARNING: Spoilers. One of Australian Survivor’s best-loved players just got ousted thanks to a brutal blindside from their closest ally.

Survivor Australia blows fans away with stunning tribal council

WARNING: Survivor spoilers ahead.

Survivor’s ‘vigilantes’ majority alliance finally split during Monday’s episode, with much-loved returning player Shonee Fairfax sent packing after those she’d been working with turned on her.

Shonee copped a brutal blindside at tribal council, with those in her alliance insisting that the ‘vigilantes’ were impossible to break up, and that they would continue to pick off those in the minority.

Shonee took her elimination well.

They kept up the bluff right up until the votes were read, revealing Shonee had been given five out of the nine votes. They included votes from her alliance members Matt, Gerry, Hayley and George, one of her closest allies in the game.

“I just got voted out! I was very generous in this game, giving out idols left right and centre. And at the time I wanted to play one to myself, I didn’t,” Shonee said after her elimination.

“I hope it wasn’t George, because I saved him twice,” she continued, as viewers were shown George casting his vote for Shonee.

A preview for Tuesday’s episode showed George gloating at having ousted his closest ally, declaring to the cameras that he is “definitely going to win” because “nobody else’s resume even comes close”.

He couldn’t hide his glee around camp either, trying on items of clothing Shonee had left behind and gloating that having voted her out, he could now steal her clothes.

Shonee first competed in 2018’s Champions vs Contenders, finishing fourth but winning a legion of fans for her hilarious, quirky playing style.

She returned for All Stars in 2020, finishing seventh. That makes Heroes and Villains – in which she’s finished ninth – technically her ‘worst’ Survivor showing so far.

But she’s been one of the undoubted highlights of the season, throwing out memorable moments as part of her “Spice Girls” alliance with George and Liz.

Australian Survivor continues 7.30pm Tuesday on Ten.
