Nova radio star Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald covered his face in embarrassment when a star revealed live on air that she used to have a crush on him.

During an interview on Fitzy and Wippa this morning, singer Marcia Hines said to the former AFL player: “I had such a crush on you.”

“Seriously?” a surprised Fitzy replied.

“Yeah, those gorgeous eyes,” Hines cooed.

Wippa joked to Hines, “I thought you gave up drinking?” before asking when she first saw Fitzy and thought he was “a bit of a cutie”.

“About seven years ago,” Hines said. “I used to see lots of pictures of him and he’s got these really pretty eyes and a really great mouth.”

Fitzy was visibly embarrassed by the declaration and covered his face with his hands before swiftly changing the topic.

He asked Hines if there was any truth to the speculation that it’s her in the Bushranger outfit on Channel 10 show The Masked Singer.

“Loose lips sink ships,” Hines teased.

The singer was also asked if she would be willing to appear on Australian Idol again if the reality show ever gets rebooted.

“You never say never, darlin’, I might,” she answered.
