SELENA Gomez may have cast aside her two best friends, Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, but the pair has shown they don’t need her to have fun.

SELENA Gomez may have cast aside her two best friends, Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, but their pair has shown they don’t need her to have fun.

Lovato and Swift caught up at the MTV VMAs on the weekend and had fun taking selfies together.

“Look who I got to see tonight!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ you @taylorswift,” Lovato captioned the picture.

Lovato, 21, had been close with Gomez since childhood, when they both got their big breaks on Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

But the former Disney star confirmed this month that the two aren’t nearly as friendly as they once were.

“I think it’s just one of those things where people change and people grow apart,” she told US television host Andy Cohen.

Rumours of a rift began circulating in July, when Lovato unfollowed Gomez on Twitter.

“Swimming away from the bulls*** bye b****,” she allegedly tweeted — and promptly deleted — at the time.

Meanwhile Gomez reportedly fell out with Swift after the I Knew You Were Trouble singer voiced her disapproval of Gomez getting back together with popbrat Justin Bieber.

Despite Swift sending Gomez a birthday message on Instagram last month she was still not invited to her birthday party in St Tropez where Gomez partied with her new BFF Cara Delevingne.

Swift meanwhile has moved on in the BFF stakes as well with the singer splitting most of her time these days between Royals superstar Lorde and Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss.
