Sam Armytage slams Woman’s Day for Sunrise feud story: ‘Mindless bullsh*t’

A FURIOUS Sam Armytage has begged viewers not to pay attention to a report alleging she’s about to get the sack from Sunrise.

Will the real Malcolm Turnbull stand up?

SAM Armytage has slammed Woman’s Day magazine over a cover story in this week’s issue declaring she and Sunrise co-host David Koch were “at war.”

“Toxic feuds, secret deals & why Sam packed her bags,” the magazine’s cover teases alongside pictures of Armytage and Koch.

Inside, the mag alleges that Armytage — “once heralded a saviour for helping resurrect Sunrise” — recently “went into hiding” at a health retreat amid on-set discussions about the future of her job.

Woman’s Day quotes a “Seven insider” who says that David Koch is eager to freshen up the Sunrise line-up, with Edwina Bartholomew ready to take over Armytage’s spot as co-host.

“Eddie doesn’t want to take Sam’s job off her, but of course it’s what she’s been working towards,” the mag quotes their unnamed insider as saying.

Armytage took to social media to beg her followers not to buy the magazine, labelling it “mindless bulls**t.”

“What? The Hewitts aren’t getting divorced for the 5-millionth time this week? Kate Middleton isn’t expecting her 12-thousandth baby?” she wrote.

“So, it must be a @sunriseon7 feud to take up several pages during the quiet-January-period.

Silly. Trash. Idiotic. Mindless. Bulls**t.

“Sensible women of Australia, I beg of you NOT to part with $4.99 for this tripe!!! (& y’all know an “anonymous source” is code for “made up in the magazine’s office”!!) The only war I’m involved in, is trying to get Banjo into a bath,” she continued, referring to her pet dog.

“And I packed my bags because........I went on holiday!”

All smiles, but Woman’s Day claimed there was trouble on the Sunrise set.

This isn’t the first time Armytage has hit out at a media outlet over unfavourable coverage — last month, lawyers acting on Armytage’s behalf threatened Daily Mail Australia with a defamation action after they published unflattering paparazzi pictures of the TV host “daring to bare” what they called “granny panties showing a visible line” under her outfit. The Mail apologised to Armytage and amended the article.
