A plucky WAG has turned amateur CSI and tracked down an alleged car thief in Melbourne after her VW Golf was pinched on Thursday night.
Paris Tier, the girlfriend of Greater Western Sydney player Conor Stone, arrived in Melbourne on Thursday for the Grand Final weekend, but woke on Friday to find her car gone from where it was parked in East Malvern.
She realised when she walked out onto the street to go and buy a bagel.
“My car’s gone. My car has been stolen,” she said on TikTok.
She tracked the car down, thanks to her iPad which was in the boot, discovering it parked in Wheelers Hill.
Looking in the window of the vehicle she saw a man asleep in the front seat.
Ms Tier called police who arrested the man after waking him up and smashing one of the vehicle’s windows.
Ms Tier posted a video of the arrest to her TikTok account.
It shows police approaching the vehicle and pulling a man from the front seat.
Ms Tier told 7News on Saturday that the man was sleeping in the front seat of her car surrounded by small fruit juice boxes when police arrived and arrested him.
“The night before I had some sort of like, weird feeling and I was like ‘you know, I am going to put my iPad hidden in the boot,” she told 7News.
Ms Tier tracked her car, finding it 15 minutes away at the Wheelers Hill Shopping Center.
Victoria Police confirmed a man has been arrested following an alleged vehicle theft in Malvern East between Thursday, 26 and Friday 27 September.
“It is alleged the offender stole a white Volkswagen hatchback from a property on Washington Avenue about between 10.30pm and 8am,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“The vehicle was later spotted on Jells Road in Wheelers Hill with the alleged offender inside about 8.30am on Friday, 27 September.
“The man allegedly refused to get out of the vehicle, so officers smashed the car window and arrested him at the scene.
“The 33-year-old man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possessing a controlled weapon, and handling stolen goods.
“The Noble Park man has been bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 18 December.”
