Emma Stone was caught on-camera in a fit of panic backstage at the Oscars on Monday night.

It was a great night for Stone, who walked away with the Best Actress gong for her role in Poor Things.

Hours before taking to the stage to accept the award, Stone was spotted having a freakout backstage.

In a video snapped backstage by an onlooker, Stone was seen calmly chatting with her husband, and fellow actress Kirsten Dunst.

Mid-conversation, Stone turns around to look at the screen behind her only to gasp and begin yelling.

The actress starts frantically panicking, and then taps her husband on the chest and screams: “Oh my god! It’s Nadia and I’m not up there!”

Stone was referring to Poor Things makeup artist Nadia Stacey, who had just won the award for Best Makeup and Hair Styling.

The video then shows Stone running as fast as she can in her dress as she desperately tries to make it to the stage before the end of Stacey’s acceptance speech.

After the clip made it onto Twitter, fans couldn’t help but poke fun at Stone’s awkward effort to run while in a tight gown.

“Her run is so funny!” laughed one user, while another said: “Maybe this is how she broke her dress lol”.

While accepting her award for Best Actress, Stone clutched the back of her dress, which seemingly had come apart at the seams.

“My dress is broken,” she said as she took to the microphone, the audience bursting into laughter. “I think it happened during I’m Just Ken,” she added, referring to Ryan Gosling’s earlier performance of the hit song from Greta Gerwig’s movie Barbie.

“Oh boy, this is really overwhelming,” she said as she tugged her dress upwards. “So, my voice is also a little gone, hmm, okay, whatever.”

As she left the stage after her acceptance speech, she said: “Don’t look at the back of my dress.”

Stone’s Best Actress win saw her beat rival nominees Lily Gladstone, Carey Mulligan, Sandra Hüller and Annette Bening to the award.
