AS The X Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace gets set to represent Australia in this year’s Eurovision, The Voice 2014 title holder Anja Nissen will sing for Denmark.

Overseas media outlets appear to be just as confused with various reporters left stumped on whether the 21-year-old is actually a Danish national.

Just a week ago, Nissen laughed off the bungle after posting a picture of international reports in 2014 calling her Australian to 2017, which describe her as Danish.

“Hahaha,” she simply wrote.

Her fans were quick to support her: “Oz or Denmark does not matter. You belong in both countries and you have WON in both countries! Get ready for the next step,” one Instagram user wrote.

Nissen faced a career slump in 2014 when her album flopped after selling just 1952 copies in its first week.

“I wasn’t expecting it to do well,” Nissen told Confidential at the time.

“That sounds really bad ... but I didn’t feel as though it was my album as such because it was covers.

“I didn’t feel that there was a lot of expectation from me on my album.”

Since then, Nissen appears have been taking it easy, spending time with family and friends.

“Another late night swim,” she captioned one photograph on Instagram.

Another one said: “Almost 80 and healthier than ever, goals. #grandad #morfar #healthy #inspiration.”

Meanwhile Firebrace was confirmed by SBS as Australia’s Eurovision representative this week.

He will sing a ballad called Don’t Come Easy, which was written by Sydney’s DNA, who penned The Sound of Silence for Dami Im.

Firebrace will compete in Kiev, Ukraine from May 12 with the final taking place on May 14.
