POP superstar Justin Bieber had his first Vegemite experience at a northern beaches restaurant.
The Canadian idol, who performed for 70,000 people in Sydney last night as part of his Purpose tour, went to Manly Wine with three minders.
He was in need of some refuelling after his ANZ Stadium concert which he said was ‘the best night of his life”.
As well as ordering three eggs on toast- one runny to dip his bread in- he asked to try the famous spread.
Marketing manager, Camilla Glover, said: “He ordered three eggs on toast, one runny for his dipped bread.
“He’s like ‘do you have that Aussie spread that everyone talks about?’ she said.
“I’m like vegemite?
“I made it for him on white toast with heaps of butter and just the right amount.
“He enjoyed it and he ate it.
“Then he did FaceTime with a girlfriend.
“I said ‘why did you choose Manly Wine, he said ‘we were just cruising up the coast’.
“I said how was your concert last night and he said it was really cool.
“It’s nice to have the reputation that we can look after high end clientele. It’s pretty cool they had their first Vegemite experience here in Manly. It’s pretty significant.”
Bieber also wanted to sample another Aussie speciality- good coffee.
Breakfast Manager Rick Gunning said he didn’t recognise the star at first, but was later grilled about what kind he should order.
He said: “He said, ‘I kind of fancy a coffee. I’m not sure what I like, what would you recommend?’ I said ‘latte is nice.”
However he later swapped his latte for his pal’s iced version.
Bieber was also seen lifting up his shirt over FaceTime- perhaps to show off a new tattoo.
A few weeks ago Manly Wine had another famous diner, Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu
Diner Phil Carson from Manly heard Bieber was there via a staff member and went to see if he could spot him.
He said: “It’s something to brag about and tell people.
“I put on Facebook: ‘When you go for breakfast in Manly and Justin Bieber is in the same restaurant.’
However, Bieber, wearing a red basketball kit, refused to pose for photos — but did kiss and hug staff goodbye.
