Internet sleuths thought they had identified the seemingly-horrified woman who was captured next to a cuddly Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR chief Kristin Cabot on the jumbotron at a Coldplay concert — but a company rep said no other employees were captured on the big screen with the allegedly philandering couple.
Many online detectives identified the red-faced woman as Alyssa Stoddard, Cabot’s direct report, who had recently been promoted and had worked with her through four different companies.
But an Astronomer spokesperson said Stoddard wasn’t at the fateful Massachusetts concert with the pair on Wednesday night.
Stoddard joined Astronomer just months ago, and her post announcing her new role was met with vitriol after social media thought she was with the pair as they struggled to hide their canoodling when they ended up on camera in front of tens of thousands of people.
“Way to go! You were hired to keep the secrets and failed five months into the job,” one person snapped.
Byron and Cabot scrambled to duck out of frame and hide their faces when the camera panned to them canoodling and they were splashed on the jumbotron.
“Oh, what?” lead singer Chris Martin asked on stage, according to TikTok footage. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
After realising he had possibly outed a couple cheaters, Martin quipped: “I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
Meanwhile, the tech company CEO has since been placed on leave.
Astronomer said in a statement Friday that Pete DeJoy, cofounder and chief product officer, was interim CEO.
“We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days,” the company said in a statement on X.
Earlier, the company confirmed it launched an investigation into the matter.
The incident, which has since gone global, occurred at the British super group’s gig in Boston, USA, on Wednesday.
