THE marathon man of rock’n’roll Bruce Springsteen will be back for his third tour of Australia in four years in January.
His Summer ‘17 shows with the E Street Band will mix outdoor stadiums and destination venues with indoor arenas, with all fans advised to expect concerts of up to four hours.
Springsteen played the longest gig of his career last Friday night in Philadelphia with four hours, three minutes and 46 seconds of fan-pleasing rock’n’roll showmanship.

The 67-year-old rock journeyman shows no sign of slowing down and has already been named the leading global touring act for 2016 with almost two million tickets sold for concerts throughout Europe and America.
It is known that Springsteen has already completed a solo record for release in early 2017 so Australian fans may be the first to hear those songs.
The Boss shows have proven to be an offer too good to refuse for Australian rockers Jet who will reunite to perform at the Melbourne, Hanging Rock, Hunter Valley and New Zealand concerts.
Drummer Chris Cester said the band had fielded numerous offers for reunion gigs since announcing their split in 2012.
While he and frontman brother Nic weathered a tempestuous relationship as the band came to an end, the drummer said they are in a “much better place” and excited about playing together again with mates Cameron Muncey and Mark Wilson.
The band also reconnected with Winterman and Goldstein, the Australian management team which helped take them to the top of the charts worldwide with a raft of hits spearheaded by the infectious rocker Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
“I think Bruce Springsteen has everything to do with us getting back together and all the pieces are now falling into place,” Chris said.
The drummer has continued to perform and work with young bands in his Laurel Canyon studio while Nic has been writing and recording a solo record.
Wilson recently played on Peter Garrett’s debut solo record A Vision Of Now.
Whether or not the Jet reunion will be short-lived or roll into new recordings depends on how other band members feel once they get into the rehearsal room over the summer.
“I imagine when we are all together there will be something positive to tell us to move forward or that was great and that’s it,” Chris said.
Diesel has also been tapped for the Hanging Rock and Hunter Valley shows, a timely support act considering he bravely covered Born To Run on his recent album Americana.
The tour kicks off at the Perth Arena on January 25 and heads to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on January 30, AAMI Park, Melbourne on February 2, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney on February 7, Hanging Rock, Victoria on February 11, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 14 and Hope Estate, Hunter Valley on February 18.
There will be a Frontier Touring pre-sale from September 20 with general public tickets on sale from September 23. Check frontiertouring.com for on-sale times as they differ for each concert.
