NO FAN base in the world holds a candle to 1D’s Directioners and they reached their true peak when Harry Styles released his first solo single.

NO BAND in the world has fans like One Direction.

Despite being on hiatus since January, 2016, their fans, affectionately known as ‘Directioners’, collectively lose it every single time one of the members does anything noteworthy.

This leads us to today when Harry Styles, who is arguably the favourite member of the band, released his first and long-awaited solo single.

One Direction fans have lost it over Harry Styles’ new single.

The song, entitled Sign Of The Times, well and truly broke the internet with thousands of his fans tweeting their hilarious responses to the single.

Since its release less than 24 hours ago the song has already become number one in close to 90 countries.

He has also broken the record for the fastest number one single on US iTunes.

Adele previously held the record at 50 minutes but Sign Of The Times shot to number one in under 20 minutes.

Styles is the fourth member of One Direction to pursue a solo music career.

Zayn Malik was the first when he scandalously left the group back in March, 2015.

Niall Horan came next, dropping his stand-alone single This Town in September last year.

Louis Tomlinson debuted his dance track Just Hold On with Steve Aoki in December, 2016.

Tomlinson received global praise after performing the song on the British version of X-Factor mere days after his mum Johannah died from leukaemia.

Styles (far right) is the fourth of the One Direction boys to release a solo single.

The group’s final bandmate Liam Payne is reportedly due to release his new music in a matter of weeks but has delayed the release since his girlfriend Cheryl Payne gave birth to their first child last month.
