Mariah Carey’s wild backstage demands revealed by radio hosts

The singer is famous for her diva demands – and, as two UK radio hosts have revealed, she lived up to expectations during her latest gig.

Mariah Carey’s extravagant diva demand at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard has come to light.

The Hero songstress, 56, is notorious for her OTT behaviour and, ahead of her stint onstage in London, she lived up to expectations.

Previously, it was revealed how US legend Mariah sleeps with a whopping 20 humidifiers in her room and how she allegedly demanded a rider filled with 20 white kittens and 100 white doves.

Reverting to type at the Capital radio event, British TV and radio presenter Sian Welby, 38, let slip the backstage detail exclusively to The Sun.

“We will do what we’re told. When it comes to Mariah, she is the boss. She’s changed the whole dressing room to just be called Mimi’s World,” she revealed.

“Doesn’t even have Capital branding anymore. It’s all her zone.”

Tipping the other end of the scale, her co-host, Chris Stark, added: “Will Smith by the way is the most chilled, like he’s just wandering around.

“He was in catering, he just went and sat himself down and got himself some food.

“It’s incredible, he’s so chilled.”

Matching her impressive backstage set-up was her vocals live onstage.

She closed the show with her hit, We Belong Together, after belting out classics Fantasy and Emotions.

Fans were quick to take to X to praise Mariah’s vocals and one put: “What a show … Mariah Carey LIVE in the UK!!”

A second added: “Mariah’s mic was ON and she sounded and looked amazing! Perfect finish!”

A third wrote: “Mariah looks and sounds so divine I could cry.”

The star’s diva demands and confessions have gone down in the showbiz history books.

Recently, she said she shunned acknowledgment of her birthdays and said: “I don’t count years, but I definitely rebuke them – I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling.”

Mariah is also renowned for her super slim-fitting clothing choices, often accessorised with towering heels.

And she has strong opinions on flats and said: “I can’t wear flat shoes. My feet repel them,” she said.

Previously she told of her selfie rule to Buzzfeed and confessed: “I don’t need to take a selfie with someone from their bleak angle; I don’t care for that.”

Also, there’s a reason why she always in shades: “I have a rule which states that I will not be seen in fluorescent lighting without sunglasses.

“I know it’s very nineties.”
