Hollywood star Liam Hemsworth has been spotted filming his new movie Land of Bad in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Hemsworth stars in the action-thriller alongside his brother Luke Hemsworth and Academy Award winning actor Russell Crowe.
Co-star Milo Ventimiglia was also spotted shooting near Hinze Dam.
Crowe plays an air force drone pilot who is supporting a special operations mission in the Philippines, when things take a disastrous turn for the worst.
The Tier-One team on the ground, who are joined by Liam Hemsworth’s character Kinney, are stuck in the fight of their lives.
Thrust into a battle without any weapons, and with no ways to communicate other than the drone, Crowe’s character Reaper may be their only chance at survival.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk previously said the film would boost the economy and create local jobs.
“Queensland continues to shine off and on screen, which is why producers are returning to our state and local production companies are gaining global reputations,” Ms Palaszczuk said in a release last week.
“Led locally be Brisbane’s Hoodlum Entertainment, who will executive produce Land of Bad, will enjoy first-class expertise from a Queensland crew and deliver an estimated $7.7 million into the state’s economy.”
