ANOTHER day, another revelation from the Sony hacking scandal.

This time, The Daily Beast has uncovered leaked emails between Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal and producer Mark Gordon. The pair tear into Leonardo DiCaprio over his decision to abandon the upcoming biopic of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

Gordon: “Was this about the deal ... or did he just change his mind?”

Pascal: “The latter.”

Gordon: “Horrible behaviour.”

Pascal: “Absolutely despicable.”

Pascal copped an icy death stare from Angelina Jolie earlier this week, as she ran into the actress on the same day that a different batch of leaked emails featuring the powerful executive labelled Jolie a “minimally talented spoiled brat”.

It turns out that was just the start of Pascal’s involvement in the scandal.

The Daily Beast has also uncovered an exchange between Pascal and the head of TriStar productions, Tom Rothman, in which they discuss a bizarre interview that Jaden and Willow Smith gave to T Magazine.

Rothman: “1. Read this. 2. They r home schooled: don’t let this family date your movies!!!”

In all fairness, the interview was very strange. Here’s a selection of quotes from the Smith children:

• “I mean, time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please, and that’s how I know it doesn’t exist.”

• “Your mind has a duality to it. So when one thought goes into your mind, it’s not just one thought, it has to bounce off both hemispheres of the brain. When you’re thinking about something happy, you’re thinking about something sad. When you think about an apple, you also think about the opposite of an apple. It’s a tool for understanding mathematics and things with two separate realities. But for creativity: That comes from a place of oneness. That’s not a duality consciousness. And you can’t listen to your mind in those times — it’ll tell you what you think and also what other people think.”

• “Breathing is meditation; life is a meditation. You have to breathe in order to live, so breathing is how you get in touch with the sacred space of your heart.”

Whoa, these kids are deep.

In another email chain, Pascal talked to George Clooney about issues with his film The Monuments Men.

Clooney: “It’s getting worse. I need some protection from all the reviews. Let’s just make it a hit. I haven’t slept in 30 hours. And it’s 7am.”

Pascal: “We will protect you by making money ... that’s the best revenge.”

Clooney: “I adore you Amy. You are literally the only person running a studio that loves film. I fear I’ve let you all down. Not my intention. I apologise. I’ve just lost touch ... who knew? Sorry. I won’t do it again.”

So clearly, Pascal does have some fans. And according to The Daily Beast, Ryan Gosling is one of them.

“Ryan absolutely loved you,” talent manager Ilene Feldman wrote to Pascal in October. “Said it was like speed dating because he was late after hitting every wrong gate on the lot.

“He really wants to do something with you.”

It’s not all bad news for the Sony executive then.
