‘Hollywood star Jeremy Renner lashes out at Disney in candid interview
Marvel actor Jeremy Renner has made a shocking claim on why he believes Disney attempted to cut his pay.

Jeremy Renner has lashed out at Disney, revealing that he felt “insulted” when they attempted to cut his pay.
Renner has portrayed Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his debut as the character in 2011’s Thor.
He’s played the role in four feature films throughout those years, and most recently in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye.
However, when Disney attempted to get a second season off the ground, they made Jeremy an offer that left him gobsmacked.
“They asked me to do season two, and they offered me half the money,” said the actor. “I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount.
He then went on to refer to his life threatening accident that left him in a critical condition after being run over by his 14,000-pound snowcat on New Year’s Day in January 2023.
He was airlifted to hospital, where he underwent several operations to treat his injuries and had to endure a long recovery.
“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.’ This is not Marvel, mind you. This is like, just Disney.”
Renner went on to share that he immediately turned down the offer, which he found insulting considering how much he had been paid for the first season of the hit show, which also starred Hailee Steinfeld.
“I told them to go fly a kite. I mean, just at the insult offer. So we didn’t see eye-to-eye on it. Sadly, I still love the character. I’d still love to do it, but I had to defend myself. I didn’t ask for any more money, mind you. Just pay me what I made the first season. So it’s all disheartening that didn’t happen, but that’s fine. I’m happy to let that go, because my body’s probably thanking me, time and time again, that I’m not doing it right now. But we’ll see.”
