BABIES
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley
We know it’s a boy, but we don’t have a name. Margot Robbie and husband Tom Ackerley celebrated the arrival of their baby in October.
The Australian actor, 34, has been seen out and about in Los Angeles with her bub in tow, however has remained tight-lipped about his name.
Simone Holtznagel and Jonathan Castano
Simone Holtznagel’s life changed, when her daughter Gia arrived in to the world.
“On Sunday March 31st I welcomed by healthy baby girl Gia into the world. I am totally and completely in love with her and enjoying these special moment,” she posted.
Tahlia Giumelli and Tom Burgess
Tom Burgess and his wife Tahlia Giumelli welcomed the arrival of their third child in August.
The Miranda Kerr look-alike model and the English rugby player shared the happy news on Instagram at the time, introducing their first-born boy and revealing his surprising weight at birth.
“Alfie Mark Burgess Born 8/8/24 at 4:04pm. Built like a Burgess weighing in at 4kgs and 54cms long,” Tahlia wrote.
Anna and Tim Robards
Anna and partner Tim Robards welcomed baby number two this year — a baby girl named Ruby Robards who arrived in early March.
While the couple were elated with her arrival, they revealed the birth didn’t go exactly according to plan.
“It’s been a BIG few days with a few speed bumps to test us out, but coming up for air and can now introduce you to Ruby Robards!” she wrote, pictured with her happy family snap of her family in hospital.
Sarah Snook and Dave Lawson
One of our most beloved actors, Sarah Snook this year became a mum.
In May, the Succession star revealed that she welcomed her first baby with husband Dave Lawson in an Instagram photo of her and her newborn watching the hugely successful TV program.
While she didn’t mention her baby, she did tell her fans how the program had changed her life.
“It’s hard to express what this show has meant to me,” Snook began. “The places I got to go, the immense talent I got to work with … it breaks my heart that it is all over.
“I just watched the final episode of the final season of something that has changed my life.
“And now, my life has changed again. Thank you for all the love and support,” she wrote, presumably referring to her new baby.
Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker
Life got a little busier for Elyse Knowles this year, with the model welcoming her third baby.
Knowles welcomed her third child with her fiance Josh Barker in December, a baby girl named Java.
The Block star announced the exciting news on Instagram, alongside a video of her newborn daughter with her two sons.
“The boys with their baby sister Java. 5~12~24,” she wrote.
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel
Miranda Kerr became a mother of four this year.
The Australian model announced in February that she had given birth to her fourth son, Pierre, her third child with husband Evan Spiegel.
“We are overjoyed by the arrival of our little ray of sunshine, Pierre Kerr Spiegel,” she wrote on Snapchat and Instagram.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our fourth son into our family. Feeling so very blessed.”
Kerr and Spiegel are fiercely private about the identity of their children, so instead of sharing a photo of the baby, she uploaded an image of orange and yellow flowers, a pair of baby socks and a blanket embroidered with her newborn’s name.
Kate Peck
TV presenter and model Kate Peck shared her new baby news with a hilarious Instagram post in November, alerting her followers to the fact Percy Peck, her second-born son, had arrived.
“Introducing Percy Peck. Aka Percival Jasper Pec … already with impeccable taste in boobs, bubbles and stinky cheese. Chip off the old block.
“Thank you to everyone for sending your love … even if I’m too high on endone to respond.”
Lauren Brant and Barry Hall
Baby number four arrived for former Hi-5 star Lauren Brant and AFL legend husband Barry Hall in July.
The couple shared the exciting news via Instagram, announcing the arrival of their newest son Clay.
“Our son was born 20.7.24 at 8.33pm into our loving arms at home,” they shared.
“It was magic. We are all in the most beautiful bubble of love and are being held and supported by our incredible community.
“We look forward to sharing our home-birthing story with you.”
Sophie Delezio and Joseph Salerno
Australia’s sweetheart Sophie Delezio and her partner Joseph Salerno welcomed their first child together – a baby boy – in September.
Announcing the happy news on Instagram, Sophie captioned her post: “Welcome to the world, Frankie. Our hearts are so full.”
Melissa George
George announced on Instagram in March 2024 that she was about to welcome her third child — another boy. Then, toward the end of March she announced the safe arrival of her youngest son.
“Welcome to the world my little man,” she posted. “Love knows no end.
“A mother of 3 sons. Cannot believe it. My heart is so full,” she wrote, alongside a black and white image of her new baby’s tiny feet.
George gave birth to her first child – a son named Raphaël – in 2014 and her second child – a son named Solal – in 2015.
Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant
Married At First Sight Australia couple Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant welcomed their second child together – a baby boy – in July.
On July 25, the MAFS stars took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
“Carter James Merchan️t,” Robinson revealed, before adding: “You are just perfection. We have a beautiful healthy boy! 23/7/24.
“Seeing our Oliver Chase shake with excitement becoming the big brother and meeting Baby Carter (as he calls him) #BigCub@babycubsandladylumps was one of the best moments EVER.
“@cammerchant thank you for holding my hand through what felt like a lifetime but magic all at the same time. Family of four now — I love you.”
Sam Mac and Rebecca James
Seven presenter Sam Mac and fiancee Rebecca James welcomed their second child together – a gorgeous baby girl called Mabel – in August.
“It’s a girl! ️Again! We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mabel August McMillan to the world (Born last night 14/8/24),” the couple shared on Instagram.
“It’s my destiny to be surrounded by beautiful women! A stark contrast to my high school years,” Mac wrote.
“I’ll share more details soon, but Bec was our warrior yet again, Mabel was deliciously chunky & chilled & now we take a collective breather before Hurricane Margot passes through to meet her baby sister later tonight.”
And one for 2025 ... Ash Barty and Garry Kissick
After welcoming their first child, Hayden, in July last year Australian tennis star and former world No. 1 Ash Barty this week revealed her family would once again be expanding.
The three-time grand slam champion announced she is expecting her second child with husband Garry Kissick in a special Christmas Day social media post.
Barty announced her first pregnancy in January 2023 by posting a picture of her dog, Origi, on Instagram with a pair of baby shoes, which resulted in a flood of congratulatory messages.
“2023 set to be the best year yet. We are so excited for our new adventure,” Barty wrote in a caption that included a baby emoji.
WEDDINGS
Sam and Lucy Burgess
Former NRL player Sam Burgess and his wife Lucy Graham got married in October, at Villa Aurelia – a 17th-century Baroque property set on the highest point within the walls of Rome.
Guests included Burgess’ brothers George, Tom and Luke, English rugby league great Wayne Godwin, NRL hero Adrian Morley and former Rabbitohs teammate Jason Clark.
The pair announced they were pregnant with their first child in March, 2023, just months after they went public with their relationship.
They celebrated the birth of daughter Robbie in September, 2023.
Vessa and Daly Cherry Evans
There were footy heads left, right and centre when popular NRL star and Sea Eagles captain Daly Cherry-Evans married his long term partner Vessa Rockliff in November.
Those in attendance included 2011 premiership-winning teammate Kieran Foran and his wife Karina, Broncos recruit Ben Hunt, Jake and Tom Trbojevic with their respective fiancees, plus ex-Manly teammates Jamie Buhrer, Darcy Lussick and Justin Horo.
Melbourne Storm five-eighth Cameron Munster was another sports star spotted at the event, as was recently retired Manly centre Brad Parker.
Cherry-Evans and his now-wife Vessa have three children – Navi, Harvie and Tully.
Laura de Wit and Benjamin Whittaker
Model and founder of bridal accessories label Magnolia Ave, Laura de Wit walked down the aisle and professed her love for Benjamin Whittaker in South Australia in March.
Laura Enever and Jake Smith
This looked like it was one of the most fun weddings of the year.
Aussie champion surfer Laura Enever married her long-term partner, DJ Jake Smith, in a super-cool ceremony in Ibiza in September.
The 32-year-old announced the happy news on Instagram, where she wrote: “Married my best friend today,” adding white loveheart emojis.
“@jakesmith.wav love you so much,” she added.
Celebrity guests included DJ Fisher and his wife Chloe, and Australian model Ellidy Pullin.
Kelly Gale and Joel Kinnaman
This was always going to be a stunning affair.
Victoria’s Secret model Kelly Gale tied the knot with Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman in September.
The genetically blessed pair were married in an intimate ceremony in the Nevada desert during the Burning Man Festival.
Gale shared an insight into the big day with a carousel post on her Instagram, where she wrote: “Always been soulmates. Husband & Wife returning from the playa️.”
Chrishell Stause and G Flip
They are so loved up, they did it twice.
Australian musician G Flip and American television personality Chrishell Stause renewed their vows in Australia more than a year after eloping in Las Vegas.
Stause, 43, confirmed the news in a series of Instagram Stories she shared in July, dubbing their vow renewal – which also doubled as the Selling Sunset star’s birthday celebration – “the best night of my life”.
Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup
Another couple who decided to tie the knot twice this year was Aussie actor Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup.
A year after they first said “I do”, the couple did it all over again – this time in a classy wedding ceremony with their nearest and dearest in Mexico City in June.
News of the celebration was shared by Naomi’s brother, Ben Watts, who shared footage of the loved-up weekend to his Instagram.
Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma
Rebel and Ramona wore “a duet” of gowns by Pronovias when they tied the knot in Italy in September.
Their relationship, which has been branded a modern-day fairytale, was made official in front of family and friends, under an arch of flowers at the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, which overlooks the stunning Mediterranean landscape.
About 80 guests were invited to the ceremony to watch the couple say their vows after two years of dating.
Tammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski
Millionaire influencer Tammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski tied the knot in November in a lavish Byron Bay ceremony.
Wearing a pink Vera Wang gown, the influencer said her vows in front of family and friends including Ruby Tuesday Matthews, Emily Davies, Lily Brown and Jett Kenny.
Berndaette Fahey and Jordan Sukkar
They’ve been one of the most talked about couples this year, and Bernadette Fahey and fiance Jordan Sukkar finally made it official in December.
The couple threw a star-studded ceremony in Sydney, with Fahey walking down the aisle at Scots College in Bellevue Hill before throwing a party back at Sukkar’s family estate nearby.
Among the A-list guests were Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic, Jade Yarbrough Montana Cox, Justin Hemmes and pregnant partner Madeline Holtznagel, and Dina Broadhurst.
Mitchell Moses and Bri Gardoni
They tried to keep it on the down-low, but the happy news got out in January when Paramatta Eels player Mitchell Moses tied the knot with his longtime partner, Bri Gardoni.
While the couple kept the details of their wedding under wraps, guests posted some snaps to their social media pages, confirming the couple did tie the knot.
Among the sports stars in attendance included Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Bryce Cartwright, Dylan Brown, Junior Paulo, Bailey Simonsson and Ryan Matterson.
