Guy Sebastian is writing a musical film

He’s one of Australia’s greatest singer/songwriters, and now Guy Sebastian is trying his hand at writing a musical film.

Guy Sebastian has revealed he is writing a movie.

The singer told Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa today: “I started writing a movie during this lockdown. It’s like a musical movie. Who knows what will come from it.”

Sebastian told the radio duo he was inspired to start the project after reading a book called Big Magic written by Elizabeth Gilbert.

“She wrote Eat, Pray, Love. For creatives it’s like a bible,” he said. “She talks about ideas, that ideas visit you and entrust you and then it’s up to you whether you want to give it the time it needs.

“I swear to god, if I didn’t read that book I would have succumbed to my normal thoughts, like, ‘Who do you think you are writing a movie? Do you think you are Spielberg or something? Crawl back to your hole.’

“I read that book at the right time and hopefully when you interview me in a little while it will be because I’ve just won a whole bunch of Oscars,” Sebastian joked.

Sebastian has just released a song called Believer which is the seventh single from his latest album, T.R.U.T.H.

He is also currently starring on Channel 7’s The Voice alongside Rita Ora, Keith Urban and Jessica Mauboy.
