The Hollywood actor finally addressed allegations of burglary, grooming and assault after Warner Bros. reportedly threatened to cancel an upcoming blockbuster.

Embattled Hollywood actor Ezra Miller broke a months-long silence on wild allegations of grooming, burglary and assault to apologise for “complex mental health issues”.

The mea culpa released to movie trade publication Variety comes amid reports that film studio Warner Brothers is considering scrapping Miller’s Flash, a USD $200 million (AUD$285m) production scheduled for release next year.

“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller, who starred in the Harry Potter franchise’s Fantastic Beasts movies, said in a statement to Variety.

“I want to apologise to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behaviour. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Miller was last week charged with a felony burglary when child services in the US state of Vermont were attempting to find a mother and her three children that have allegedly been living on his farm, Rolling Stone reported.

He was accused of breaking into a house and stealing several bottles of alcohol in May. It was the latest in a series of controversies, including a 2020 video that appeared to show him choking a woman in Iceland.

Following last week’s charge, The Hollywood Reporterclaimed that Warner Bros. Discovery was considering scrapping the DC superhero tent pole that is scheduled to release on June 23, 2023.

Quoting a source with knowledge of the situation, THR said if Miller sought professional help and give an interview at some point explaining the erratic behaviour over the past few years the movie could be saved and opened as planned.

The movie, also starring Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two different multi-verse versions of Batman, was set to kick up the next phase of the company’s movie universe.

Another scenario in the studio’s reported planning has the movie releasing as planned but without any involvement from Miller in its promotion, and a future recast of the character for the following movies in the franchise

In the most dire scenario, Warners was reportedly considering scrapping the movie completely if Miller and his situation continued to deteriorate. The studio just weeks ago scrapped the USD $90 million (AUD$130m) Batgirl movie as a tax write-off.

Miller was arrested in Hawaii twice this year for disorderly conduct and harassment, in which he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour disorderly conduct and paid a $500 fine and $30 in court costs. The harassment charge was dismissed.
