Trudy Beadman, 41, of Old Beach, said she bought a VIP general admission ticket in the expectation she would have access to a VIP area, but received an email saying the VIP terms had been adjusted.

“They’ve removed the VIP exclusive section, and the people who’ve paid $460 for their tickets are in with the general admission people, who paid $160 for their ticket,” said Ms Beadman, pictured.

“[I’m] really, really frustrated … you pay for a privilege and then it’s taken away. ”

Promoter Live Nation said it had to expand the front general admission area due to production requirements.

“We have taken this decision to try to open up the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert to as many of their fans as possible,’’ Live Nation said.

“We are offering either full refunds or partial refunds of the VIP package uplift cost.”
