NOWADAYS it seems like every celebrity has written a tell-all book or has one in the works because no matter how hard we all try to deny it, they’re always an addictive read.

It’s the shocking revelations, the no-holds barred commentary and the inner workings of the industry that leave us all picking our jaws up from the floor and rapidly turning to the next page.

Here’s some of those revelations that blew everyone away.

Rosie O’Donnell and Celebrity Detox

O’Donnell’s 2007 memoir covered a bunch of her life many people assumed to be true but were waiting for actual proof like her complicated relationship with Barbara Walter and Donald Trump to the way the entertainment industry took away her version of happiness.

The part that shocked everyone the most though was her way of dealing with her mother’s death — by breaking her own bones.

With a baseball bat or hanger she would break “my hands and fingers usually. No one knew. It was a secret … as proof I had some value, enough to be fixed.”

O’Donnell’s mother passed away when she was only ten years old.

Drew Barrymore and Little Girl Lost

When someone releases an autobiography at the incredibly young age of 15, you know they’ve lived an eventful life.

When Barrymore scored a role in 1982’s E.T, her parents probably didn’t predict how quickly their pigtail wearing seven-year old was going to be yanked off the rails.

Despite being from a family with some pretty famous acting jobs, Barrymore’s portrayal of the screaming Gertie in E.T made her one of the most famous child stars of all time.

In Drew’s autobiography, penned in 1990, she writes about having her first drink at age nine to smoking pot at ten and snorting cocaine at 12.

After a number of stints in rehab and nude photoshoots, Barrymore made it through to the other side.

She has since formed her own production company Flower Films and has two young daughters.

Zayn Malik and Zayn

Zayn broke countless teenage girls hearts back in March last year when he quit the boy band One Direction. In his upcoming autobiography entitled Zayn, the ‘Pillowtalk’ singer reveals why he left the group. Following in Salt-n-Pepa’s footsteps, Malik just wanted to talk about sex.

In an excerpt shared to NME, Malik writes “Every lyric I’ve ever written has a story behind it. All the hard work that went into the creation of ‘Pillowtalk’ was worthwhile because, as soon as it was finished, I intuitively felt I was on the right path. It was a sick cut, nailing the exact sound I wanted to capture in my music. I was also able to sing about a subject that I hadn’t really been able to go near while I was in One Direction: sex.”

After five years in one of the world’s most successful boy bands of all time, Malik’s autobiography will no doubt be full of no-holds barred commentary the singer has become known for.

Zayn is due for release on November 1.

Christina Crawford and Mommie Dearest

The world was left reeling after the daughter of Hollywood golden girl Joan Crawford released her tell all.

Christina Crawford, the oldest adopted daughter of the actress released one of Hollywood’s first and darkest tell-alls a year after her mother’s death.

The book spoke of Christina’s abusive upbringing with her adoptive mother and sat on the top of the New York Times bestseller list for 42 weeks.

In 1981, the book was also made into a movie starring Faye Dunaway with the “no wire hangers” scene reaching an unparalleled level of infamy.

Whether or not Christine’s book was factually correct has been an ongoing debate since its release with two of Crawford’s other children publicly claiming Christine lied.

The twins, Cathy and Cindy adding that their mother was never abusive.

Katie Price and Reborn

The world was scrambling for answers when Katie Price revealed an affair with a ‘Mr X’ in her book Reborn.

‘Mr X’, who is reportedly Liverpool football star John Arne Riise had sex with Price ‘like a cordless drill’ according to the model.

She writes. “put it this way: If I’d needed a shelving unit erected, he’d have been perfect. Instead of handling me gently and passionately like most women want, he was like a cordless drill on a multi-speed setting!

Bang ... bang ... bang, bang, bang. At one point I panicked, thinking, “S***, if he doesn’t stop soon, I’m going to be permanently attached to the bed!”

Despite reports ‘revealing’ the real ‘Mr X’, Price still refuses to confirm the rumours.

Taraji P. Henson and Around The Way Girl

Never one to shy away from a bit of social commentary, the Empire star’s new book doesn’t back down from some of Hollywood’s biggest issues.

Henson speaks about the issue of racism in Hollywood, especially when it comes to down to payday.

Despite scoring one of the main roles in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Henson said the producers only offered her “sofa change to Pitt’s millions” writing it was “less than 2%” of Pitt and Blanchett’s salaries.

“There was one other thing,” Henson writes.

“I’d have to agree to pay my own location fees while filming in New Orleans, meaning three months of hotel expenses would be coming directly out of my pocket. Insult, meet injury.”

She goes on to say African-American actresses are “consistently charged with diving for the crumbs of the scraps, lest we starve” and called her ordeal a “thorough Hollywood screwing”.
