MEXICAN actor Patricia Contreras suffered an embarrassing nip slip on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this week — but was the much-photographed moment entirely unintentional?

The D-list starlet, who describes herself as an “actress, model and creative mind” on Instagram, was snapped posing on the red carpet for the Cannes premiere of film Everybody Knows — seemingly unaware that her strapless dress was exposing her left nipple.

Later photos show the 30-year-old star fixing the mishap with the help of a fellow guest, Israeli socialite Hofit Golan.

Canny fashion watchers might be sceptical about just how accidental Contreras’ wardrobe malfunction was, given her prior form in this area. It was only last September that she walked the Cannes red carpet in a dress that, while demure on top, left little to the imagination down below:
