WHEN Katy Perry rocked up to the Met Gala in a giant red outfit, we had one big question ... and she’s finally answered it.

KATY Perry will do anything for fashion, even if it means figuring out a new way to go to the toilet.
The Bon Appétit singer, 32, finally explained how she was able to go to the bathroom in the over-the-top, multi-layered, crimson Maison Margiela gown she wore to this year’s Met Gala during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“There was a lot of self-control, practice, and GoGirls,” she told DeGeneres. “You know those little contraptions where you then get to urinate standing up?”
Not sure exactly what a GoGirl is? According to the manufacturer, it’s a female urinary device (“sometimes called a FUD,” they point out), a pastel-coloured, silicone contraption that allows women to “urinate while standing up.”
“It’s neat. It’s discreet. It’s hygienic,” they promise of the GoGirl.
It doesn’t sound like Perry was worried about urinating at this year’s event, which she also co-chaired. She’s used the FUD before, and sounds like a fan.
“I’ve used them in several music videos because I always find myself in this predicament where I have a very extravagant, lavish, unrealistic, unpractical costume on,” she said. “That’s just me, I guess.”
Earlier this week, Perry faced backlash over her latest music video for Bon Appetit, with critics claiming it “appeals to cannibals”.
It starts with Perry, in flesh-coloured swim wear, being surrounded by chefs sharpening their knives.
They soon cover her in flour and knead her body, using prosthetics to make her limbs stretch like pasta dough, before dropping her in a large vat of boiling water.
Bon Appetit debuted at No. 35 in Australia last week on 4,358 sales, this week it dropped to No. 46 on 3573 sales.
Perry’s new album, Witness, will be released on June 9.
