KENDALL Jenner’s older sisters tend to steal the spotlight — Kim Kardashian’s recent nude photos come to mind — so much that Jenner forbade them from attending her fashion shows when she was first modelling.
“Banned is a strong word — it was more of a mutual understanding,” Jenner said in an interview airing on ABC’s Nightline on Monday night.
“I think that if my sister [Kim] was sitting front-row, and my sister is who she is, I know this sounds kind of weird, but it almost would have almost taken the attention away from what I’m trying to do on my own.”
Though she’s looking to make a name for herself in the modelling world apart from the famous Kardashian-Jenner reality-star moniker, the 19-year-old has one thing in common with older sister Kim: not being shy about showing off her body.
For one of Jenner’s first high-profile fashion gigs, walking on Marc Jacobs’ runway during New York Fashion Week in February, she wore a sheer top that showed her breasts. She has also posed in risqué shoots for photographers including Victoria’s Secret staple Russell James.
The new face of Estée Lauder says she has no regrets about the body-baring gig for Jacobs.
“Who’s going to argue with Marc Jacobs when he’s putting you in an outfit? … I don’t regret it,” said the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.
To critics who think she’s an exhibitionist, Jenner quipped: “They’ll get over it.”
