Meghan Markle lashes critics after birthing room video

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has addressed recent criticism against her and Prince Harry in a new interview.

Meghan Markle has hit back at haters of a video she shared of her and Prince Harry dancing in a delivery room.

In a preview of the next episode of the Aspire podcast, set to drop Tuesday US time, the mother of two tells host Emma Grede “You have to be authentic”.

The Duchess, 43, then asks, “Did you see my ‘Baby Momma’ dance?”.

Grede, a British entrepreneur and fashion designer, told Meghan she had seen the video and even “did a little secret cheer” for her.

“Like, I wanna see that happiness and that honesty and that ‘I don’t give a f–k’ kind of thing,” Grede added.

Meghan pointed out the video was recorded in 2021 when she was pregnant with Lilibet.

“That was four years ago. So it’s also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”

She continued: “I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”

The throwback video was shared on Instagram for Lilibet’s fourth birthday on June 4.

It shows Meghan dancing to the viral Baby Momma Dance song in a black wrap dress.

Harry, 40, could also be seen dancing across the screen.

“Four years ago today, this also happened,” Meghan wrote in the caption.

“Both of our children were a week past their due dates … so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!.”

The clip divided social media users.

“Make it stop. #Cringe,” one person wrote on X, while another described the clip as “fake and cringe.”

A third person said, “Everything they do to be ‘relatable’ is weirdly not relatable. It’s bizarre how they never miss.”

But others were kinder.

“On the flip side, one user praised the Sussexes for the “super cute” display.

“LOOOOVE!! Go Meghan and Harry!” another wrote.

PRINCE HARRY’S SLEEK GERMAN IN NEW VIDEO

Prince Harry practised his German as he shared a video message to mark the country’s first ever Veterans Day.

The Duke of Sussex, who opened and closed his speech in German, greeted viewers with “Guten Tag Deutschland!” as he went on to describe how it was a “profound privilege” to deliver the message on the “sacred day”.

Members of the German military have been honoured with a series of events in the country’s first-ever Veterans Day on June 15.

Speaking in the video, the California-based royal referenced his own visit to the German city of Dusseldorf for the 2023 Invictus Games, where he was joined by more than 2,500 veterans and injured service personnel.

“My last visit to your remarkable country was to Dusseldorf two years ago for the Invictus Games, and it remains etched in my memory,” Prince Harry said.

“The warmth, the enthusiasm, and the unwavering support shown by the German people for our global community of wounded service personnel was truly humbling. You certainly delivered on your promise to create a home for respect.

“That spirit of camaraderie, forged on the sports field, mirrors the unbreakable bond that connects veterans of all nations. We understand each other, regardless of flag or uniform, bound by shared experiences and an enduring commitment to service.

“Veterans are more than warriors - they are leaders. Living testaments to resilience and moral courage, they understand that loyalty must never lie with power alone, but with the people. With truth.”

During the video message, Prince Harry was wearing numerous ceremonial medals that he was awarded in the past.

These included the Afghan Campaign medal, Golden Jubilee medal, Diamond Jubilee medal and Platinum Jubilee medal.

Speaking about service, Prince Harry continued in his speech: “As someone who has worn the uniform and stood shoulder to shoulder with brothers-and sisters-in-arms from across the world - including many of you - I know that the weight of service is not carried lightly.

“We serve not to glorify war, but to protect peace. Not to follow a single voice, but to uphold a collective oath — to country, to people, and to the principles that bind us together as free nations.

“Germany has shown the world how memory, accountability, and unity can be turned into strength.”

Harry added how during “turbulent times”, Germany’s role in safeguarding peace and stability in Europe “has never been more critical”.

He continued: “To the brave men and women of the Bundeswehr — a heartfelt thank you for your steadfast service to your country, to your people and to one another.

“Today is also a celebration of you, the values you stand for, the oath you took and the great country you stand to protect.

“Today, let us renew our commitment — together — to protect the freedoms that define who we are, to serve each other for peace, for dignity and for the enduring promise of democracy.”

He closed the speech in German, saying “thanks and have a nice day”.

“Vielen dank und einen schonen tag,” he said.

The video came just 24 hours after the royals all came out in formal attire for Trooping the Colour.

Prince Harry’s estranged brother Prince William caused a sensation by appearing on horseback.

The future king’s ceremonial gear, which included a large bearskin hat, had royal fans in a frenzy.

“Prince William is just, divine. There is no other word to describe him in uniform,” one user wrote on X.

“Prince William’s rocking a stunning new beard! Hoping for more pics to get a better look,” said another poster on X.
